T.L.E pushes for organic agri
In accordance with the celebration ofnational year of rice, Technology Livelihood Education (TLE) Department held an Organic Agriculture and Farm Raising Re- echo Seminar at TLE building on Sept. 9.
The said seminar in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA) aimed to impart useful livelihood raising techniques and lighten students’ concern about issues on farming system and rice supply in the Philippines.
All SSG and TLE Club officersof the school were the student- participants of the 7- hour seminar.
The speakers were Mrs. Irma Mercado, School Nurse who tackled about Nutrition, Mr. Babagonio who undertaken the set- up of Vermi Composting, and Ms. Dhogie Paclibar discussed about organic agriculture.
After the discussions 36participants were grouped into four and did hands- on activities on Fermentation of Coconut Juice, Papaya Juice, Spices Juice, and Kangkong Juice as fertilizers. The results of the experiment will be seen five days after.
Meanwhile, Mr. Gem Sumpay, HT- III of LINHSstressed during the opening program that we were not exempted from risky vegetables that are exposed to synthetic chemicals. If we’re not aware about it, our life would suffer.  “We must be conscious on what we are buying” he further.
