Good leader must possess honesty, integrity, professionalism- Huliganga

“A good leader must possess honesty, integrity, and professionalism among others”
Thus, spoke Mr. Leo R. Huliganga, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent of South Cotabato, keynote speaker to 976 campus writers and 125 advisers during the opening program of Division Schools Press Conference 2013 (DSPC) at Tupi National High School, October 16.
“Unless we have leaders in great values, many of our people shall continue to suffer from joblessness and poverty” he said.
Huliganga told journalists to seek a leader who could direct people to a higher motivation, and who could inspire his followers to achieve greater outcomes and later succeed in life.
“Transformational leaders lie in the hands of DepEd… to provide the best leadership preparation through quality education”
He cited the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam as an eye opener that truly Department of Education has the power and responsibility to produce responsible leaders.
“Through the might of your pen, you will become the voice of faceless and nameless individual” as he referred to campus journalists.
Huliganga stressed that journalists can influence others, and will become good leaders that inspire followers and become transformational leaders of the world.
The speech delivered by him focussed on the theme, “Campus Journalism and Transformational Leadership”
What Mr. Leo Huliganga wanted to say was that campus journalists do not only limit themselves within the campus but also have the responsibility for transformational leadership in school and the country as a whole.
